Join Mobile Edge to Keep Hope Alive This National Missing Children’s Day

ANAHEIM, Calif., May 12, 2016 May 25th is National Missing Children’s Day, an annual observation that highlights the problems of child abduction and honors organizations and individuals who work to protect our nation’s children.

To recognize this national day, Mobile Edge, a leader in the design and manufacture of laptop carrying cases, messenger bags, backpacks and more, will donate 10% of their sales of their National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) Caring Case Collection, to help raise awareness and prevent child abduction.

“It may sound cliché, but children do represent our future. How we raise and protect our children says a lot about us as people,” says Mobile Edge President and CEO G. David Cartwright. “That’s why Mobile Edge is proud to support the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® each year to help prevent child abduction and exploitation, as well as reunite missing children with their families.”

According to NCMEC, more than 450,000 children are reported missing each year in this country, with an additional 6.6 million reported as abused or exploited.

What can caregivers do to keep children safe?

According the NCMEC, one way caregivers can keep children safe is through communication. Their “Take 25 Initiative,” encourages parents, guardians, and educators to take 25 minutes to talk to children about safety. They stress getting involved in a child’s life, online and off, as well as monitoring the child’s whereabouts and internet usage. Having an up-to-date, quality photograph and descriptive information about the child is critical for law enforcement.

A Child ID Kit, prepared by the NCMEC, is available for download at Mobile Edge’s website. It’s an easy way to pull together descriptions of your child’s identifying features, medical information and photographs.

Each year, Mobile Edge donates 10% of the retail price of purchases from its NCMEC® Caring Case Collection directly to the NCMEC. The organization’s co-founder host of “America’s Most Wanted” John Walsh, whose own child was abducted and murdered, maintains that “One missing child is one too many.” Take a moment this May 25 to pause and honor our Nation’s missing and exploiting children, and then join Mobile Edge and NCMEC in helping to keep hope alive for countless children and families.
