ANAHEIM, Calif., May 12, 2016 — May 25th is National Missing Children’s Day, an annual observation that highlights the problems of child abduction and honors organizations and individuals who work to protect our nation’s children.
To recognize this national day, Mobile Edge, a leader in the design and manufacture of laptop carrying cases, messenger bags, backpacks and more, will donate 10% of their sales of their National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) Caring Case Collection, to help raise awareness and prevent child abduction.

According to NCMEC, more than 450,000 children are reported missing each year in this country, with an additional 6.6 million reported as abused or exploited.
What can caregivers do to keep children safe?
According the NCMEC, one way caregivers can keep children safe is through communication. Their “Take 25 Initiative,” encourages parents, guardians, and educators to take 25 minutes to talk to children about safety. They stress getting involved in a child’s life, online and off, as well as monitoring the child’s whereabouts and internet usage. Having an up-to-date, quality photograph and descriptive information about the child is critical for law enforcement.
A Child ID Kit, prepared by the NCMEC, is available for download at Mobile Edge’s website. It’s an easy way to pull together descriptions of your child’s identifying features, medical information and photographs.
